Hello, I am migrating from 2003 to 2010. I have a problem with public folders replication. The hierarchy has migrated successfully but the content does not come to the new server. I can see the messagess 0x20 leaving from the source server and the messages 0x20 arriving on the new server. The SMTP logs look good. Any information on the next steps to troubleshoot? Thx, Filippo

Just an update: I've run the PFDAVAdmin tool (http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com/2008/01/pfdavadmin-exchange-2007-and-v11-net.html) I've moved a bit forward. Now I'm getting a lot of Event ID 3093 Replication errors in the log the the source and destination servers... Filippo

The process shall be: a. Exchange 2003 server (2k3) send an outgoing status request message [0x20], exchange 2010 server (2k10) will receive this incoming message [0x20] for requiring the response. b. 2k10 will return the message [0x10] c. 2k3 will compare the differences. Then, the backfill starts when the changes have been found. 2k3 will send backfill request [0x8] to 2k10 d. After 2k10 receives incoming request message [0x8], it will immediately process & response with message [0x80000002: For hierarchy / 0x80000004: For content] which has actual data e. 2k3 processes the incoming response properly According to your description, the replication has stopped at step a. Can you verify if the 0x10 message has been sent from 2k10 to 2k3? Troubleshooting: 1. Did 2k3 know that it is missing data? It will send request [0x8] if knows just like the normal process above [The sending interval: 24-48 hrs once] 2. Did 2k3 send requests [0x8] to ask for missing data? [Interval is same as above] 3. Did 2k10 receive the request [0x8]? If yes, it shall response immediately 4. Did 2k3 get the respond mails [0x80000002/0x80000004]? Thank you James for your detailed answer. That was exactly what I was looking for. Lukly I've found the solution. When the replication started the first time I've noticed the antispam blocking replication messages due to the "sending email address" not beeing present in AD I've configured the antispam software (GFI MailEssentials) to let the messages go. I've simply forgot to DISABLE THE ANTISPAM in the source server. Thank you again for the support. Best regards, Filippo
